Harrison Davis Joins HIG Capital’s Small-Cap Investment Platform

HIG Capital has strengthened its Small-Cap & Growth division through the addition of Harrison B. Davis as Managing Director, bringing over 15 years of lower middle market private equity expertise to the Miami-based investment firm.

Davis joins from TZP Group, where he served as Partner and Co-Head of the Small-Cap strategy, and previously held investment roles at Brown Brothers Harriman Capital Partners. His experience spans business services, industrials, consumer, and technology sectors within the lower middle market segment.

“Harrison’s deep strategic perspective and operational expertise, coupled with his investment acumen in the small-cap sector, will further strengthen our platform,” commented Camilo E. Horvilleur, Co-Head of the H.I.G. SCG Fund.

The appointment enhances HIG Capital’s 40-person dedicated SCG team, which pursues control equity investments in undermanaged and high-growth North American companies with EBITDA under $15 million. The strategy focuses on businesses with elements of operational complexity or transactional challenges that create value creation opportunities.

Davis’s hiring reflects HIG Capital’s commitment to building specialized expertise across the full spectrum of middle market investments. The firm has simultaneously expanded into secondaries markets through strategic hires from Morgan Stanley and closed its largest lending fund at $5.9 billion.

The Small-Cap & Growth platform leverages HIG Capital’s significant resource advantage and proven track record investing in companies requiring operational improvements or strategic repositioning. The team’s approach combines financial resources with hands-on operational support to drive sustainable value creation.

Recent organizational enhancements support HIG Capital’s active deal pipeline across multiple sectors and investment strategies. The firm has completed major transactions including technology mergers and media acquisitions while maintaining its focus on middle market opportunities.

Founded in 1993, HIG Capital operates from 19 offices spanning North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia. The firm manages $70 billion across diverse investment approaches, having invested in more than 400 companies with current portfolio holdings generating combined revenues exceeding $53 billion. Davis’s addition reinforces the firm’s commitment to small-cap excellence within its comprehensive investment platform.
